Catholic Services Appeal (CSA)

Campaign Video
The annual Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) is a "united parish" campaign that funds over thirty vital programs, services and ministries throughout our 16 county Diocese. As wide-ranging as they are, they have one thing in common. They touch each one of us! The Appeal reaches across parish boundaries, tying us together with a common thread in areas of Education, Service, Worship, Prayer, Social Concern, Charity and so very much more.

Where does the Appeal Money Go?

When you contribute to the CSA you help families, young adults, senior citizens, student, and the entire parish.

  • to sponsor multiple programs for youth and lay ministry,
  • to advocate in many ways for the protection of life in our society,
  • to care for the handicapped, elderly and less fortunate,
  • to encourage candidates for the priesthood, and befriend seminarians,
  • to enable seminarians, deacons and lay leaders to complete their education,
  • to help parishes receive assistance in seeking grants for many ministries and building projects,
  • to provide faith support for college students in the Newman Centers on college campuses,
  • to provide for the education of children andyouth in our Religious Education and our Catholic School Systems,
  • to provide parish assistance in administration, management, and fundraising.
  • to help married couples strengthen their bonds.
  • to help congregations so that they can experience new vitality in their worship.
  • And so very much more.

CSA and Faith in Our Future Campaign
Are we expected to give to both?

In regards of how the CSA factors into the fulfillment of pledges toward the
Faith in Our Future Campaign consider these facts:

  1. Through the Faith in Our Future Campaign’s receptions and promotional materials it was made clear that those who participated should consider a gift “over and above their normal giving” and that the annual appeal would return the following year.
  2. A total of only 9,135 out of our 30,000 diocesan-wide households - fewer than 30 percent - contributed to Faith in Our Future. That leaves a strong pool of potential CSA donors.
  3. We also know that many regular annual appeal donors – about 33% - chose not to give to the Faith in Our Future Campaign.
  4. The Catholic Services Appeal's much smaller goal of $2 million is more manageable for both parishes and parishioners and represents a shorter-term commitment.  Pledges are paid off in a year, rather than over a four-year period.
