Sacrament Preparation

Baptism

Parents wishing to have their child baptized may call the parish office and ask to speak with a priest or deacon to schedule a one-hour baptism class.

First Reconciliation

Register
Preparation for First Reconciliation will begin in early fall.  Children in 2nd grade or older may prepare for this Sacrament of Healing if they are baptized and attend all six class sessions with an adult.  Details of preparation will be shared during Faith-Full Families, our 1st-8th grade faith formation program, in September.

Adults wishing to attend their First Reconciliation and wanting guidance for making a good confession may call the Faith Formation Office at 715-532-3051.

Families MUST be enrolled in either/both Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School or Faith-Full Families, our faith formation program for 1st - 8th grade families.




First Eucharist

Register
Preparation for First Eucharist will begin in early 2020 and includes six family sessions, dates and times below.  Children may prepare for this Sacrament of Initiation if they are baptized, have been attending a Catholic school or Catholic Faith Formation for at least two years, and have received their First Reconciliation. 

Families MUST be enrolled in either/both Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School or Faith-Full Families, our faith formation program for all Families.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults/Teens/Children)

Inquiry sessions, informal Q&A, for those interested in joining the Catholic Church (through baptism, confirmation, and/or Holy Communion).

Confirmation preparation begins in May for students in 10th grade or older.  Students will participate in Decision Point (confirmation preparatory program) Candidates for Confirmation will participate in a service project, a retreat, interview with a priest, and write a letter of intent to our bishop.

Confirmation takes place in spring of the year.
